About the only thing he got right was the address. I received an appraisal on family property and was sorely disappointment in this person's work. There was no mention of leaky roof(s), or damaged gutters, faulty plumbing and many other areas of the home and property that had been without maintenance for many many years. This is an older home and the last repairs were done in 1972. The comps were ridiculous, much newer and in much better shape. The master bathroom has marbled patterned formica and he noted "marble tile bathroom" - all of which added to the property value - NOT. Don't you think an appraiser would know the difference between 1970's formica and marble???? Had he never seen a 30 year old roof? I have the feeling he was a "family friend" or was asked by their relator jack up the value for them. I could not contest because it was in Trust situation and I didn't want to cause more family distress. Needless to say I was very unhappy with his work. Buyer beware!!!! I am a licensed professional myself and i considered reporting this person to their licensing board but I doubt it would make a difference. There should be more oversight for this license.
