Mr Hammond was hired to do an appraisal on a property we were purchasing. He went out to the home, spent only minutes inside the home and put together an appraisal that was 25K less than the contract price. Mr Hammond used inappropriate comps, i.e., a HUD home that was in fix-up condition compared to the appraised home which was upgraded and updated. Mr Hammond would not respond to any inquiries by the Realtors, would not return phone calls or respond to any e-mails. Mr Hammond appears to be an incompetent appraiser who will not work with anyone or admit to his mistakes. We had to go to another lender, hire another appraiser and spend and additional $750. The second appraisal came back at an appropriate market value. DO NOT USE MR. HAMMOND FOR YOUR REAL ESTATE APPRAISAL. I have also filed complaints with Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies on Mr Hammond.
