COMPLAINT AGAINST THOMAS HUNDLEY, OF HUNDLEY & ASSOCIATES
On July 14, 2022: Thomas Hundley inspected my house, and I gave him a check (at his request) for $550. He said he could get his appraisal to me in “about a week.”
July 25, 2022: I emailed Tom checking in on the status of the appraisal. He never responded.
July 28, 2022: I emailed Tom and asked him when he would be able to get the appraisal to me. He never responded.
August 2, 2022: I texted Tom inquiring about when he would be able to get the appraisal to me. He never responded.
August 3, 2022: I called Tom and left a detailed voicemail message asking him to at least respond to me about the status of my appraisal. (He never responded to my text message that I sent yesterday, August 2, 2022).
August 4, 2022: Tom called me back, and said he was delayed because (a) his wife had died; (b) he was in the process of selling his house, and (c) the battery on his cell phone had died. He promised me that he would have the appraisal to me later that day. Never happened.
August 8, 2022: Still no report from Tom. At 10:30am, I sent him a text message asking him when I would get my appraisal. I got no response. At 2:20pm, I called Tom on his cell phone, but he didn’t answer. I left a detailed voicemail message asking him to call me per my text message and voicemail message. (Note: While Tom was doing the inspection of my house, he interrupted the inspection to take a phone call from a prospective new client. I heard the whole conversation. He complained that he had to pay a fee to HomeAdvisor.com for every lead he gets). I also emailed him on this date, but he never responded.
August 9, 2022: I emailed Tom again asking him why he was not responding to my emails, texts, and voicemail messages, and informing him that the delayed appraisal was holding up my divorce proceedings. I asked him when he would be able to get the appraisal to me. He never responded.
August 10, 2022: I called him at 11:30am and he answered the phone. He promised that he would have the appraisal to me by 3pm on that day. He said that “a few things went sideways” in his life and that was the reason for his delay.
August 15, 2022: I sent him a detailed text message explaining my frustrations with him not responding to my emails and text messages, and the fact that his delays were holding up my divorce, and asking him what his intentions were. He never responded.
August 22, 2022: I still have heard nothing from Tom. It has been 6 weeks since he inspected the house and told me that he would have the appraisal to me in “about a week.” He has not responded to any more of my texts, emails, or phone calls, so I have given up on him and hired a different appraiser.
